Sleeping

So I had been warned that most babies DO NOT sleep through the night. I may be jinxing myself by writing this but you are the exception to that rule. So far we have had two nights where you have slept through the whole night. Even when you don't you only wake us once to feed and then you get up early around 4 or 5 in the morning and most morning's you will go back down to sleep some more. I would have to say that we are pretty lucky parents and you are one very good baby. Let's hope you keep up the good sleeping forever.

Now during the day you don't sleep as much but you do grab some cat naps here and there, but you are getting older and Mommy and Daddy know that we have to start entertaining you. You love to swing in your swing now. You make a lot of noises when we put you in there and you are starting to enjoy being on the mat with toys above you to play with. You move your arms a lot and every once in a while you will hit a toy and then you will sit there and watch it move around for a bit.

Today i was trying to get Max to lay near you and not be so afraid of you - you kicked him once and now he steers clear of you- Silly Dog! I'm not sure i helped the situation as you grabbed a hold of his hair and wouldn't let go. He did not like that at all!

April 16, 2013- Your first smile. I loved it! You are starting to make so many facial expressions and trying to stick out your tongue. It's so cute.

Last weekend we celebrated your Walters Cousin's birthdays. Your first long trip and you did very well on the drive there and back. Your cousin Callie was not to happy that her mommy kept holding you. She kept saying " Sam's ready to get down now" It was cute.

We were also able to get a four generations picture with Grandpa and Great Grandpa Walters! You have Great Grandpa's Middle name- David. You are the first boy on the Walters side of the family. Grandpa is very excited, he has already decked you out in Illini and Bears clothes, and I'm sure the hunting gear is not to far behind. Mommy is not too excited for that.

Happy One Month to My Precious Little Man!

Wow, you are one month today.

I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I feel like just yesterday I was headed to the hospital.  

You are not sleeping as much during the day, but you want to eat all the time. Thankfully your nigh time sleeping is still pretty good. 

You are crying a lot more and Mommy and Daddy try everything we can think of to calm you. Sometimes you just want to lay on us and that will be the only thing to get you to sleep. 

You have no trouble going to other places. Mommy has taken you to visit Megan and Lexi's house a couple of times. You have also been to your Aunt Sara's house to hang with your cousins, who love you. Or at least wanted to hold you, and play with you. I think they can't wait for you to get older so you can play with them. 

This weekend will be your first long trip and we are hoping that it will go alright. We are headed to Grandpa
Walters house to celebrate your cousins birthdays. Crossing my fingers that goes alright.

Easter

Last weekend was Easter, and was Sam's first Holiday!!!
We went to my sister Sara's house to celebrate. It was a fun day, the kids enjoyed their Easter Egg hunt. Sam did get a couple of Easter baskets from the Aunts and Uncles. Mostly clothes and some cute stuffed animals. Everyone wanted to hold you. You were passed around from Aunt, to Cousin to Grandma. We got a nice break and were able to enjoy a drink and some food.
Next year should be a lot more fun for him as he will be able to participate in the egg hunt.

It was a fun day with the family and we look forward to many more family get together's.

-You are still sleeping all the time, and eating all the time. You are eating more and more frequently. 

-Max is starting to get more curious about you. We have let him sniff you and give you kisses. Katie is still steering clear of you.
